Highlights
- Gubbio, one of the oldest towns in Umbria
- Day 1 - 22km past S Maria della Vittorina where St. Francis met the ‘wolf’, up and down through plains, woods and valleys to the Castle of Biscina
- Day 2 - 17 km - long descent with a few ups and downs to Valfabbrica, where Saint Francis stopped several times.
- Day 3 - 12 km - several ups and downs through some woods to the magical town of Assisi
- A day to stop and explore Assisi, with a guided morning tour of the Basilica
- Day 5 - 16.5 km to Spello, Porta Cappuccini pass, cyprus trees, ancient oaks and medieval walls add to the atmosphere as you follow the panoramic road to a cave where St. Francis took refuge
- Day 6 - 25 km - pass waterfalls and Via degla Ulivi to the beautiful village of Trevi
