The central Serengeti area is renowned for a density of wildlife, unmatched anywhere else in Africa.
Endless grass plains are dotted with acacia trees and rocky outcrops, from where leopard and lions observe their prey down below.
The migration passes through but there is plenty of wildlife here year-round.
Due to the year-round resident wildlife making for guaranteed wildlife sightings, the area can get busy around some of the larger lodges and campsites.
This is why Nimali tented camp has been cleverly tucked away in a quieter corner at Makoma Hill. Still with amazing access to ballooning and some of the best year round wildlife. The revamped camp will be located on a new site which will offer truly stunning valley views, luxury tented suites, and an infinity pool whilst retaining it’s sustainable credentials.
➤Day 6-8: Nimali Mara (Serengeti North)
Nimali have excelled themselves with this low-impact, boutique tented camp in a superb game viewing location, near to the Mara River in the northern Serengeti.
Strategically located near to the Mara River (famous for wildebeest crossings in migration season) the camp is located away from the hustle and bustle in a small kopje, and merges beautifully into the boulders and trees.
Just 10 elegant and beautifully fitted tented suites and honeymoon suites have canvas ‘walls’ yet the front is entirely glass, allowing guests to feel totally at one with nature, even allowing from game viewing from the copper bathtub!
The pure feeling of timelessness and space means that a trip to Nimali Mara will never be forgotten.
Note: for those wanting to view the migration then bookings should be made well over a year in advance.
➤Day 9: Departure
A final game drive en route to the airstrip where you will board a light aircraft to take you homeward or on further adventures.
