Learn How to Prepare and Cook Moroccan Cuisine with a Chef
Moroccan Cuisine is one of the world’s most cherished gastonomic experiences. This afternoon/evening trip is a genuine and unique way to get an insider’s tips and perspective on how to create delicious Moroccan dishes yourself. This trip is ideally added on to one of our Moroccan tailor made trips or weekend getaway to stay in a traditional Riad in Marrakech.
Mid afternoon you’ll be collected from your accommodation in Marrakech (ask us about staying in a traditional Riad or hotel) and head just 20 minutes into the countryside, through villages and farms until you reach a private villa, with the spectacular backdrop of the High Atlas Mountains.
Here you host, an executive chef and winner of three stars from the New York Times, will show you around the gardens and visit the kitchen garden to pick seasonal vegetables (season permitting). He’ll explain about spices used in Moroccan cuisine and give you a bread making session, to be cooked the traditional Berber oven, before demonstrating and helping you to prepare a three course meal, consisting of appetizer, Moroccan Dish and dessert.
Prepare your own Moroccan dishes under his expert guidance – out in the open air, on the shady terrace – using both modern and traditional cooking methods. You’ll be shown Chef’s secrets to unlock the true flavours of Moroccan cuisine – based on recipes he has been perfecting for years.
Afterwards you’ll all sit down to enjoy the mouth-watering dishes you have prepared together with a chance to ask Chef any more questions relating to transferring your new found skills to the kitchen back home (and the chance to impress your friends!).
