Pick up from Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to Nairobi Tented Camp. Check-in and relax in your tent before lunch and later taking an afternoon game drive, returning after sundowner for dinner and overnight.

Nairobi Tented Camp

Deep within a riverine forest just minutes from Jomo Kenyatta Airport, Wilson Airport and Nairobi City is a true wilderness experience unique to Kenya!

Visitors can arrive into Kenya and get ‘straight under canvas’ within 30 minutes of leaving the airport. Nairobi Tented Camp is an authentic tented camp in the heart of Nairobi National Park.

It is the first accommodation of any sort to be allowed in this unique safari destination. There isn’t anywhere else in the world like it; a wilderness escape where you can savour the thrill of camping in the heart of thick bushland right on the doorstep of Nairobi.

With sweeping plains on one side and Nairobi city on the other, Nairobi National Park is a wildlife haven unlike any other, with virtually guaranteed sightings of rhino a reason in itself to visit, and Nairobi Tented Camp offers guests the opportunity to really get to know this unique destination and its wildlife.

International visitors will leave Jomo Kenyatta airport and within ten minutes start their wildlife encounter, with the last 20 minutes of their short half an hour journey filled with the excitement of their first game drive in Kenya.

Whether you are in Nairobi for tourism, a night stopover, international business or conferences, producing a film or simply looking for a weekend break as a resident, Nairobi Tented Camp has something for everyone.

The camp comprises guest accommodation, a dining tent and a lounge tent.

Check out after breakfast and transfer to Wilson Airport for the scheduled flight to Nanyuki Airstrip. Met on arrival and transfer by 4×4 vehicle to Porini Rhino Camp.

Check in to camp and have lunch. Later take an afternoon game drive in the conservancy and return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy game drives viewing the best of Ol Pejeta Conservancy (with a good chance of seeing wild dogs).

A visit is also made to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

Rhino Camp

This small and intimate safari eco- camp is located within Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a vast 90000-acre wildlife area between the Aberdares and the majestic Mount Kenya.

The conservancy is home to a variety of animals including the “Big Five”. It is the largest sanctuary in East Africa for the endangered Black Rhino and is also a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees.

Porini Rhino Camp is in a secluded valley, on the banks of a seasonal river and under the shade of acacia trees. The Kenyan safari camp in Ol Pejeta consists of just eight spacious and comfortable guest tents, each having been carefully sited to take advantage of the wonderful surrounding views. Each tent is tastefully furnished and has solar-power lighting and ensuite hot shower and flush toilet. The camp is specially designed to have minimum environmental impact (with no permanent structures and using eco-friendly fuel). The newest tent is the family unit that is a H shaped and located about 20 metres from the main areas. The unit is made of high quality canvas, is spacious, each wing measuring 64 square metres and the lounge is 16 square metres. It consists of two rooms with a lounge in between. Each of the two rooms has a king size bed and a single bed, The high-quality, spacious tent is tastefully furnished and has solar-powered lighting, ensuite facilities (with hot shower and flush toilet) and a private veranda. The unit is ideal for families or group of friends traveling together and is at the same price per person as our other tents. The camp welcomes children aged 8 years and over.

The camp has the benefit of a wildlife viewing hide which enables guests to observe and photograph wildlife safely, yet in close proximity. The hide has been carefully placed to enhance wildlife-viewing right in front of camp, and with the peaceful setting and the animals freely strolling in, guests can really immerse themselves in the surroundings and feel part of nature.

The safari camp is fully inclusive of meals, drinks (gin & tonics, beer, wine, sodas and mineral water) as well as day and night shared game drives, escorted walks, sundowners, a visit to Baraka the Black Rhino & Information Centre and a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary. The Conservancy ensures excellent game-viewing and safari game drives – with “proper” open-sided, off-road (4×4) safari vehicles and expert safari guides.

In addition to the activities mentioned above (game drives, walks, sundowners, visit to Baraka the Black Rhino & Information Centre and visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary) there are a number of other optional activities which can be booked, with the income contributing to the Conservancy’s running costs: The Endangered Species Boma, Lion Tracking, Riding with Rhinos and Junior Rangers.

Porini Rhino Camp is helping accomplish the Conservancy’s aims of generating profits from wildlife tourism for reinvesting into community development in the local area.The camp staff is drawn from different Kenyan communities including members of the Maasai community from our conservancy projects at Selenkay in Amboseli and Olkinyei and Olare Motorogi in the Mara. The camp adheres to strict eco-friendly and responsible eco tourism principles

After breakfast check out and transfer to the airstrip for the scheduled flight to Naboisho (Mara).

Met on arrival and transfer by 4×4 vehicle to Porini Giraffe Camp in the adjacent and new Mara Ripoi Conservancy (game drive en route). Check in to camp and have lunch.

Later take an afternoon game drive in the conservancy with a sundowner and return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Porini Giraffe Camp

The small and intimate Porini Giraffe Camp is in a forested area of Camphor bush (African Wild Sage or called Leleshwa in Kenya) and Yellow Bark Acacia along the Ripole River in the Mara Ripoi Conservancy. This exclusive game-rich 13,500 acre wildlife conservancy is comprised of beautiful hills, forests and open plains and is home to a large abundance of wildlife including the big cats.

The conservancy connects onto Siana conservancy and then directly to the Mara Reserve and so allowing free movement of wildlife from the Reserve as well as through a wildlife corridor along the Ripole River to Ol Kinyei Conservancy. Guests will also have access to the Mara Reserve and also Ol Kinyei Conservancy.

Porini Giraffe Camp has 8 guest tents and offers a personal and authentic experience for a safari in the Masai Mara, providing a great alternative to the large mass-market tourist lodges. The camp has a dining tent and separate comfortable lounge all located along the Ripole river. The camp welcomes children aged 8 years and over (see Prices Information for more details).

The camp provides guests with the opportunity to stay at a truly eco-friendly bush camp where there are no permanent structures and there is minimal impact on the environment.

This 13,500 acre Kenyan wildlife conservancy is on a tranche of land belonging to a Maasai community who have leased it to us for the purposes of wildlife conservation.

Mara Ripoi Conservancy is home to only 3 small camps (including Porini as a founding member) and no other tourist vehicles are allowed into the Conservancy, so our guests have the thousands of acres in the conservancy to themselves.

After breakfast at camp we head into the Masai Mara National Reserve for a day of game- viewing. Return to camp in the late afternoon, after a picnic lunch in the Reserve.

Later, head out on an evening game drive within Mara Ripoi Conservancy – stopping at a viewpoint for a sundowner. Continue on a night game drive looking for nocturnal animals.

After breakfast check out and transfer to Naboisho Airstrip to board 11am scheduled flight to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. On arrival met and transferred to Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to check-in for your departure flight back home.
